After all this time... Here's a review on the newest member of the Stunticons, Combiner Wars Offroad.
Offroad turns into... well an offroad vehicle. He actually looks like a Dakar Rally pick-up truck with bling rims.
Color-wise, he is basically the same as the member he replaces, Wildrider. Its even mentioned on his bio. He's grey, with red windows and some red graphics on his side. The grill, head lamps and fog lamps are painted silver.
The back, like most Hasbro offerings have no paint at all. Notice how the base of the foot has some exhaust moldings in it. Would be nice if it were painted, but that's not the biggest gripe I have, paint wise.
His alt more is overall, decent. A bit clunky, especially the exposed screw hole on the right window.
As for weapon storage, he as for exposed ports for his axe. And only his axe, because like Breakdown, he has a specialized hand foot gun connection.
The middle finger has a slot to which a peg in the truck bed has a raised peg. This allows the hand/foot gun to have a place to sit on in vehicle mode. The axe on the other hand, looks like an exposed tail pipe which engine detailing (it fails IMO).
Transformation-wise, he is the simplest, and I feel the least interesting because of a few things We'll touch on in a bit. First, flip the hood and hinge it backwards.
There are slots on the A-pillar where the hood sits. It sort of "locks" into place but not really. It just sits there... which looks stupid IMO. I wish it flipped down like Dead End's.
Next, unpeg the arms from the truck bed.
Open the leg up and basically, extend it to form his feet via the hinges near the knees. This I feel is how the legs should be done as it leaves no exposed hollow parts.
There are a few details on the legs, like the hydraulics and some greebly details.
Unpeg the door panel from the hands and hinge the door slightly outward. Again, I wish it could have done more to slide out of the way...
Like Breakdown, the shoulder joint has to flip up to to it's proper position and locks into there. It doesn't lock a chest plate though, unlike Breakdown.
Stand him up and you are done!
From a grey and red truck, he suddenly gains teal, silver, light grey and his lime green face.
I like his face, It's very serpentine, and the lime green looks like he's some toxic stuff in him. Paint-wise, I wish he has some paint on his arms. Those red lighting stuff on his car panel, I wish were in the forearms. He's suppose to be an homage... altough to what TF, I do not know.
His legs though are great. He has shock absorber details on his knees and what looks like a transfer case. 2 of em.
Articulation-wise, his arms suffer as the car door panels conflict with his car hood hat. This prevents dynamic posing of his upper body.
But he does have all the basic points of articulation. His head is on a ball joint, shoulder are ball joint, bicep swivel, waist, ball-jointed hips, thigh swivel and 90 degree knees.
Unfortunately, in my copy, his legs are loose. specially the thigh swivels. Posing him is actually pretty annoying simply because of how loose he is. Also the teal plastic feels cheap.
As per the vehicle mode, he comes with an Axe with some car engine details and his hand-foot gun.
Now for the hand/foot gun... if you have fear of small symmetrical holes, don't stare at it for too long.
We can wield the Axe easy, but lack of upper arm range makes it difficult. Dynamic action is difficult.
He can hold his hand-foot gun or peg it in his knuckle.
Transforming into foot mode is easy. Just like most of the car combiners, you simply flip the hood to robot mode position and flip the combiner peg. This results to the a very solid and aesthetically the best foot mode.
The hood functions properly as knee armor, hiding the knee joint of the gestalt.
Hand-mode, again is like other combiner car bots. From robot mode, flip the combiner port up and peg the legs together. However, the robot mode arms are suppose to peg into some pegs in the B-pillar...
... and it sort of doesn't work. It doesn't peg in securely, and it's pretty loose. unlike the others, it'll be in the way of your fingers when posing Menasor. The lower arms pegs together very loosely as well. Mine tends to disassemble itself after some time.
Overall, he is a pretty ok toy. Probably the weakest among the stunticons due to how loose he is and how much his arm kibble (both in bot and arm mode) interferes with smooth play. I was expecting him to be as strong as Drag strip at least. Still, if you want all 5 to be unique molds, then you are of course gonna have to get him and he looks good just standing up. Not sure if Wildrider will be available locally since he is an online exclusive in the US.
He's just sooooo lazy. He's had this for nearly a month now... |

Nope. Girls won't chase you if you use Axe. |

He is actually shaking typing this |
Standing, looking threatening is the best he can do |
See? |

Guess where he ate |
Nope. He gave up posing him... so he're a repeat shot |
